Venture into the Unknown
Audebimus in incognitum
UBC Orbit is a satellite design team from the University of British Columbia, dedicated to the innovation, design, and development of satellites. We are comprised of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of disciplines, and provide students with an opportunity to develop the skills they need for a career in the aerospace industry.
ALEASAT

ALEASAT is an Earth-observation satellite designed to assist in disaster relief operations. Equipped with an on-board camera, it allows radio amateurs to request and receive specific imagery of Earth directly from space.
Unlike most amateur satellites, ALEASAT’s targeted approach has direct applications in disaster monitoring and relief. It serves as a precursor to a future amateur constellation dedicated to these missions.
Supported by UBC, the Radio Amateurs of Canada, and the European Space Agency’s Fly Your Satellite! Programme, the team is building both the satellite and ground communication systems, aiming for launch within the next few years.
